Day 1
Fly from your departure airport and arrive in Ponta Delgada transfer to the Azor hotel.
Check in and relax.
Day 2.
In the morning enjoy the wonders of dolphin and whale watching. Stroll along to the harbour, literally a 10 minute walk, and board the whale watching boat. Don't forget to wear shoes with a rubber sole, a waterproof bag if you intend to take a camera or phone and a waterproof jacket.
Day 3.
Pick up you car hire and drive to Furnas Lake Villas. Spend the day exploring the nearby town of Furnas, here you will find geo thermal activity with spitting furmorles' and rising steam. You can visit Terra Nostra Gardens and discover these world famous gardens and bathe in the geo thermal waters.
Day 4.
Perhaps you would like to spend the day visiting poca da dona beija and relaxing it the therapeutic hot waters, or venture out to Riberia Grande and discover this pretty little town and it's narrow street's.
Day 5.
Today you could visit the Gorreana Tea plantation. There are only 2 tea plantations in Europe and both are on this Island! Here you can experience the process of growing and making tea you will also be able to taste and buy it. Perhaps drive onto Miradouro De Santa Iria, a famous viewpoint where you can look out to the sea and watch for whales!
Day 6.
Today you can drive towards' the world famous Sete Cidades and witness the breath taking site of the double volcano and it's beautiful lake. Take time to explore the lovely little town where you will find a local bar or down by the lake a modern cafe.
Return to Furnas Lake Villas and relax.
Day 7.
Free day to relax or explore the Island further, perhaps you could drive to Nordeste and visit the pretty little village. Don't forget to stop and check out Parque natural de riberira dos caldeiroes and it's wonderful waterfall. Take lunch in the towns and plenty of photo's!
Return to Furnas Lake Villas and relax.
Day 8.
Leave Furnas Lake Villas and drive back to Ponta Delgada airport where you can leave your hire car and check in for your return flight home.
