The main island of the Azores, Sao Miguel, still maintains a unique charm where life is polite and unhurried with a wealth of things to see and activities to do. With this 7 night trip, you have plenty of time to explore the island, escape on hikes, explore Terra Nostra gardens and the wonder of Sete Cidades.
Itinerary 8 days, 7 nights

Day 1 Whale and dolphin watching.
Fly from your departure airport and transfer to the Hotel Marina Atlantico where you will stay for 4 nights.
Enjoy the wonders of dolphin and whale watching. Stroll along to the harbour, literally a 5 minute walk, and board the whale watching boat. Don't forget to wear shoes with a rubber sole, a waterproof bag if you intend to take a camera or phone and a waterproof jacket.
Day 2 Jeep tour to Sete Cidades  & Lagoa do Fogo.
Spend a half day exploring Lagoa do Fogo and the surrounding area. A visit to Caldeira Velha**(excludes entrance fee) the natural thermal baths (entrance not included) to bathe and relax and enjoy the wonderful scenery.
Day 3 Jeep Tour of Sete Cidades.
Enjoy a half day jeep tour of the spectacular Sete Cidades where you will see the most breath taking view of the twin lakes, one blue, one green set within a giant caldera. This is a must see for any visitor to the Azores and is officially listed as one of the seven wonders of Portugal. Head down towards the town and visit the beautiful Sao Nicolau Church. 
Day 4 Transfer to Furnas.
Transfer to Furnas and stay 3 nights at Terra Nostra Gardens. Enjoy all that the hotel has to offer, from its wonderful thermal pools to its spa and restaurant. Spend the afternoon exploring the town and witness the Geo thermal activity first hand. Stay at Octant Furnas Hotel.
Day 5 Terra Nostra Gardens.
Spend the day exploring these amazing 200 year old gardens and its wonderful thermal swimming pool **(entrance fee not included don't forget to take a swimming costume with you). Terra Nostra Garden is a destination not to be missed when visiting the Azores, the pool, filled with volcanic water from the hot springs is at a steady 40°C (104°F), it's rich in iron and other minerals highly beneficial for the skin and creating complete and unparalleled relaxation. 
Day 6 Free Day Furnas.
Spend a day exploring this beautiful area, perhaps you would like to visit Lagoa do Furnas a large lake just outside the village where you can see steaming vents and watch the locals cook the famous stew Cozido das Furnas in the ground. Take a walk along this beautiful lake and take in the wonderful views.
Day 7 Transfer day.
Transfer from Octant Furnas back to your Ponta Delgada hotel, spend the afternoon exploring the town.
Day 8.
Departure day, transfer from your hotel to the airport for your flight home.
