Classic week in Ponta Delgada Package Holiday

Itinerary 8 days, 7 nights 

Day 1
Fly from your departure airport and transfer to the Hotel Marina Atlantico Ponta Delgada were you will stay for 7 nights.
Day 2  Whale watching.
Enjoy the wonders of dolphin and whale watching. Stroll along to the harbour, literally a 5 minute walk, and board the whale watching boat. Don't forget to wear shoes with a rubber sole, a waterproof bag if you intend to take a camera or phone and a waterproof jacket. 

Day 3  Jeep Tour Sete Cidades & Lagoa Do Fogo full day inc. lunch
A half day jeep tour to the famous Sete Cidades, observe the breath-taking views of this wonderful valley one of the seven natural wonders of Portugal. We stop at many view points , including Empadada Lakes, Pico da Cruz, Cumeeira Grande (the rim of the crater), Vista do Rei, the parish of Sete Cidades as well as many others!
A trip around the rim of the crater is always exciting where you will see the most stunning views.
Day 4  Van Tour Furnas and the Terra Nostra Gardens with lunch

Full day jeep tour taking in the Vila Franco do Campo on the south side of the Island. On to  Furnas lake, stopping here to eat the famous stew, Cozido das Furnas, cooked by thermal ground heat and then famous Terra nostra Gardens entrance fee included, don't forget to take your bathing costume and towel!). The tea plantation, Plantacoes de Che Gorreana awaits you in the afternoon with a stop at the view point Santa Iria before being returned back to your hotel.

Take time to relax and explore your surroundings with a day to yourselves.
Day 6 Jeep Tour to Nordeste Full day with lunch
Enjoy a  full day jeep tour to Nordeste and experience some of the best known scenery in Sao Miguel, the area is dotted with little villages, spectacular cliffs and green fields.  During the tour of Nordeste we visit the beautiful waterfall, Ribeira dos Caldeirões.  Next to the waterfall is an old water mill and beautiful gardens.   In the village of Nordeste we will have time to walk around the village.  From Nordeste we continue further to the south-east part of the island to Povoaçao and stopping on the way at garden viewpoints. We will be having our lunch in Povoação and also have time after lunch to walk around. The excellent views from Salto do Cavalo is not to be missed as we over look both the Furnas crater and Povoação.
Day 7  Walking tour of Ponta Delgada.
Half day walking tour of Ponta Delgada. Take in  the historic sights and sounds of this wonderful old town. We start the city tour walking along the main avenue up until Mercado da Graça where we can find regional products, from pineapple to cheese. Then we continue to the city centre where we will discover monuments and their history, which characterize our city and people.
During the city tour we'll make a stop for a comfort break. After the stop, we continue walking towards Campo de São Francisco, where the festivities of Mr. Santo Cristo dos Milagres (2nd largest religious festival in the country) take place, where we also find the Fort of São Brás, the statue of Emigrant, the Church of São José and the Convento da Esperança.

Depart from your hotel and fly home.
