On this walking trail, we can see lagoons, climb to the top of a mountain and enjoy a privileged view over the central part of the Island of São Miguel, we can also find some species of endemic flora, many of which are rare to be seen and we will get to know the various lagoons and wetlands in the western part of the island of S. Miguel.
During the hike it will be possible to observe Lagoa das Éguas, Lagoa Rasa, before going up to one of the highest points of the island, Pico das Éguas, then we proceed towards Lagoa das Empadadas, through a forest of Cryptomeria (Cryptomeria japonica ), before returning to the starting point.
Minimum equipment required:
Hiking shoes (Hiking boots), comfortable clothing, light jacket, t-shirt or extra sweater, food reinforcement, water, backpack, sunscreen and hat.
Recommended equipment:
Walking canes, gaiters (winter).
