This hiking trail starts and ends in the parish of Faial da Terra - Municipality of Povoação and lasts approximately 3.5 hours.
We start by going up to Sanguinho, a place that is believed to have this name due to the strong presence of the endemic plant Sanguinho (Frangula azorica). Then, the trail continues until the waterfall of Salto do Prego, one of the most beautiful corners of the island. This is the perfect stopping point for lunch in the lunchbox or to bathe in the crystal clear waters of the waterfall.
The return is made along the trail parallel to the stream that flows from the waterfall to the parish of Faial da Terra.
The return to Ponta Delgada includes a stop at Vila da Povoação, the first town on the island of São Miguel.
