We begin the tour at the majestic Monte Brasil, a natural park with a privileged view of the bays and the historic city of Angra do Heroísmo. Here you can find various types of animals and a beautiful leisure area, where many families gather to spend their days. We then head towards the east coast of the island, heading to the parishes of Porto Judeu and São Sebastião, historic parishes with great importance in the culture and tradition of the island, where you can visit one of the oldest churches on the island and one of the most beautiful examples of an Empire, built in honor of the Divine Holy Spirit. Then, stop in the second city on the island, Praia da Vitória. Here you will have some free time to explore a little of this beautiful city by the sea, and then continue to Serra do Facho, where we will have a privileged view of the entire city. Just before lunch, which will be served in a local restaurant, we will stop at the famous Serra do Cume, where we have one of the most emblematic views of the island, the well-known “Manta de Retalhos”.
After lunch, the trip continues to the interior of the island, passing through Caldeira Guilherme Moniz on our way to Gruta do Natal. It is an impressive volcanic formation that is part of the Serra de Santa Bárbara complex. Inside, visitors can explore a lava tunnel approximately 700 meters long, formed by ancient basaltic eruptions. The cave features various cavities, unique geological formations, and vibrant colors resulting from the cooling of magma. To end the day, the last stop will be in the parish of Biscoitos, it is known as a wine production area, where you can explore an area rich in vineyards, which are considered one of the great highlights of this region. We ended the day in the famous natural pools, one of the most important bathing areas in terms of volcanology, as the entire pool area was formed by an ancient volcano.
