Aldeia da Fonte

Aldeia da Fonte is perched on cliffs high above the Atlantic Ocean, laying at the foot of the spectacular Mount Pico. Aldeia da Fonte is surrounded by forest, rocks and vineyards. The complex consists of five secluded two-story stone blocks comprising a mixture of central heated and self catering suites and rooms and a gourmet restaurant, this four star hotel is an oasis of serenity in surroundings of great natural beauty and special gardens. Although providing self-catering the hotel also has a restaurant (Hocus Pocus) looking onto the gardens which will offer  a variety of local and international cuisine. There is also Scrimshaw, a lounge bar with a friendly and old-fashioned sea atmosphere.

Pico island, named for its imposing mountain, is one of the most beautiful and underrated island of the Azores. Only second to S. Miguel in size the 'Mountain Island' stands majestically in the middle of the Azorean central group, at about 4.5 nautical miles from Faial Island and 11 miles from S. Jorge Island. It is approximately 167 square miles (433 km2).
